What should your survival kit be compose of?
your kit should have a Browser, an FTP and a Text editor.

I think i don’t have to explain why you should have a browser or do I? . An FTP is a must for easier access and File transfer from your Local Machine to your server. I use this a lot when installing themes, widgets, plugins and when upgrading my wordpress script to the latest version. I also use this in tandem with the text editor to edit my .htaccess or some part of the script. The text editor is great for plugin developer or Wordpress user if you want to edit or findle with your blog script. Altough editing the script is cool that you can customize it to do what exactly you’d like it to do just please “proceed with caution” and that you really should know why you should edit it.

If for some reason you forgot your worpress password and that your wordpress “Lost your password?” script is not working. Or that you are serving it on your local machine and don’t have the smpt facility. This is what you should do.

1. Login to your phpmyadmin
2. Select your database for your wordpress installation
3. Browse the user table
   
4. click edit
   
5. on the user_pass field set the function to md5
6. And set the value to your desired password
   
7. Click “GO” button and your done.

3 days After installing Wordpress 2.5 in my new blog. I got to upgrade to 2.5.1 for security fixes. People in the Wordpress development community are reality into the business of making WP a superior blogging platform. Kudos to you guys!.
